Dear Patients and Families:

With the rapidly evolving situation surrounding the Coronavirus pandemic, we’ve reached the decision to reschedule ALL IN-PERSON appointments. The Washington State Department of Health has urged postponement of ALL ELECTIVE, NON-ESSENTIAL dental procedures, and this is strongly supported by numerous organizations, including the Washington State Dental Association. Our office is doing its part to lessen the spread of COVID-19, which in turn is critical for our hospitals to have the capacity to treat those in need. Please understand that with the unpredictability of this situation, the dates above are fluid, and the time period may be lengthened.

Thank you for the trust you’ve placed in us for your, or your family’s orthodontic care—everyone who is a part of Koh Orthodontics is a member of OUR extended family. The safety and health of you, your families, my staff, and our loved ones are our #1 priorities at this time, and we believe you’ll understand and support this decision.

We also understand there may be some dismay, especially for those who are scheduled for braces removal or the end of treatment. We will do our best to get you re-scheduled as soon as possible when there is clarity to the Coronavirus Curve as it relates to the safety of our patients, the staff, and the community.

In the next few days, we will be reaching out to you to tentatively reschedule your appointments. You are absolutely welcome to contact us, but we ask for your patience as we expect quite a few calls to come in. As described in a previous e-mail, we are able to offer some limited alternatives:

a. For our regular checkups, we may schedule a video-conference visit (eg FaceTime) should you have questions or concerns

b. Invisalign aligners will be mailed to your home, providing you with sufficient aligners for 8-10 weeks.

c. Emergencies will be triaged by video-conferencing (eg FaceTime), as we will help you manage this at home if possible. Please be assured that we are available, if appropriate to help manage severe traumatic emergencies and injuries.

d. For our retainer patients, we will verify with you that your retainers are comfortable and fit well, and may ask you to send photos of you wearing your retainers to us. If everything is okay, we will extend your next visit by several months.

e. For New Patient examinations and Consultations, we will reach out to you by email or via video-conferencing (eg FaceTime) to provide you with appropriate information regarding proposed treatment.

For those affected by the above dates, you will be hearing from us. For all, we promise to keep you updated. Thank you again for being a part of Koh Orthodontics.

Stay safe and healthy!

Dr. Koh and Team
