Thank you for your interest in seeing us—we are excited about and look forward to welcoming new friends! Whether you’re interested in Braces or Invisalign, or simply have some questions about your smile, our goal is to provide the highest level of orthodontics with integrity, friendliness, and respect. One of the first ways of beginning this relation is with an initial examination and consultation, which is complimentary.

During your visit, your health and dental histories are thoroughly reviewed, and any initial questions or concerns addressed. After this, a clinical examination will be done by Dr. Koh. Dr. Koh will provide a clinical diagnosis regarding the nature of the problem, his recommendations on whether treatment is appropriate and what treatment should be done. In addition, you will also receive our estimated fees for treatment if it is recommended.

Some of the potential questions that will be answered during the first visit:

  • Is there a condition that orthodontics can address?
  • Is treatment needed now or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
  • What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
  • Do any permanent teeth need to be removed?
  • How long will treatment take, and how much will it cost?
  • Will insurance cover a portion of the cost and what are my payment options?
  • What are the next steps in order to proceed with treatment?

While we can often answer these general questions about treatment during your first visit, a proper diagnosis, including specific x-ray measurements, are needed for optimal treatment planning. This will help us address your specific areas of concern and need, which then leads to superior results and higher patient satisfaction.

We are very concerned about unnecessary duplication of clinical records, especially x-rays, and will never take these without first checking with you whether such records are already available from other offices—if so, these will be requested with your permission. If none are available and x-rays and other images are indicated, we are able to take these images in our office, again with your permission.

Orthodontic treatments are a journey that we take together, and the relationships we build with our patients are so important to us. Part of achieving your trust comes from having all your questions answered, and you will be invited to return for a follow-up consultation with one of our treatment coordinators once Dr. Koh has measured all the records. At this appointment, the records are reviewed with you, the treatment plan confirmed, and any additional questions addressed.

Open Communication

We believe that good orthodontic care begins with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about our diagnosis and recommendations, any alternative treatments, and any symptoms present that may require further treatment. Our office has an open-door policy—parents and friends are always welcome to sit with our patients during their treatments. Working together, we can achieve a true partnership, with one common goal – helping you achieve a beautiful, confident smile!
